Glenn Dyer’s comments: This was probably Seven’s best night for a couple of week. The news won in Sydney, Nine News’ audience nationally fell very sharply on the night and especially in Sydney and Melbourne, Sunrise beat Today, Today Tonight won over ACA. The 7pm ABC News in Sydney with 263,000 viewers had more viewers than Nine’s 6pm News with 248,000.

Ten has real worries with The Biggest Loser and So You Think You Can Dance underperforming. The audiences will rise gradually as both move to the end of their runs, but its agony at the moment. Ten only has one decent night a week and that’s Tuesday and that’s because of NCIS.

TONIGHT: Grand Designs revisited at 6.05pm on the ABC, How I Met Your Mother on Seven at 9pm. Law and Order SVU on Ten at 8.30pm. Everything else should be eyed warily, there’s probably a turkey waiting to emerge. Not a good night to be watching TV.
