Telling the US President how it’s done, another poll twisting the knife into his opposite number — the King of the World … err, I mean KevinPM, has had the kind of week any politician would want to pop in the Blu-ray and watch over and over and over and over. Given the chaos overseas is catching up with Australia at a pace, can it possibly stay this good for Nambour’s most studious son?

The first female Premier to win an election ended up doing it surprisingly comfortably and it will be interesting to see if she can parlay that into anything like the total control over her party that her predecessor had (impartiality disclosure — she’s a distant cousin).

Very amusing are the comments from certain Federal Ministers that Steve Fielding should remember where all those preferences that got him elected came from — you wouldn’t have thought they’d want to remind everyone which glass house that particular stone was flung from.

Too bumpkin to be the Premier of North Victoria … err Queensland, was the call by the media, but there were plenty of talkbackers sad to see the back of the Borg.

Quite a weekend for girls from the Gold Coast, as the tabloids would say: “a billion reasons to smile”.
