Bendigo wants some lovin’. Apparently they’re not happy about being ignored in the Victorian town of Bendigo. Speaking to the Bendigo Advertiser, local Traders Association spokesman Jock Clark said the campaign so far had been “pretty bland” and that the town wanted wanted to see more “love” from the two leaders. “Bendigo has been ignored,” Clark told the Addy. “A little bit of love and affection could do anything.”
It’s on in Grayndler. It looks like Anthony Albanese has declared there will be a debate — in Grayndler anyway. I don’t think Anthony has ever held a debate in his 24.8%-held electorate. His campaign workers are more active than ever: a hand-delivered leaflet turned up in my mailbox last weekend, unusual activity for someone who’s made extensive use of the MP printing allowance. Could he actually feel there’s a threat? — a Crikey reader.

The bookies choice. The Sportingbet election betting website is sending mixed messages. On the front screen it is predicting the Coalition will win with odds of $1.50. On the “place bets” screen it is predicting that Labor will win with odds of $1.50. — Crikey reader Peter
