The Australian ‘s cartoonist Bill Leak has been threatened with legal action unless he stops depicting the Opposition Leader as Tintin, the comic book character created by Belgian cartoonist Herge in 1929.
Leak’s been depicting Rudd as Tintin since around December, along with his dog Snowy:
But Brussels-based Moulinsart SA, owners of the worldwide commercial rights to Herge’s works has asked Leak for a written undertaking not to “commercialise paintings and other cartoons reproducing parodied adaptations of Tintin and Snowy”.
Wonder what they’d have to say about DubToon’s depiction of the wide eyed Tintin, or as they refer to him, Tin Head. Tin Head is a North East England Teesside version of Tintin and the dubbed clips, which are all over YouTube, are peppered with many colourful expletives.
If you don’t want to hear the f word come out of the mouth of Tintin (aka Kevin Rudd), then don’t click below. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
