The Winners: The Block started solidly for Nine, let’s see how it’s going next week (although the cast is a bit of a pain). Offspring on Ten at 8.30pm, 995,000. Hot Seat on Nine at 5.30pm — 800,000 — its highest audience. Seven’s Deal Or No Deal, 700,000. Hot Seat’s lift didn’t help as a news lead-in except in Melbourne which is Eddie McGuire’s home town.

The Losers: Not Nine, for once. But Rescue Special Ops at 9pm, 684,000 wasn’t good, but the 10pm second episode’s 663,000 was much stronger.

News & CA: Seven News and Today Tonight lost Melbourne to Nine News and ACA, won the rest. ACA‘s cab driver qualifying story was only done in Brisbane because current affairs programs are allowed to use hidden cameras in that state. We don’t know if the situation is the same in other states.
