So long Singer. A surprising tweet from regular Herald Sun columnist Jill Singer last night:

“#heraldsun editor just boned me. he will no longer “accommodate” my column. replaced today by an item on … lara bingle.”

Ouch. A reader asked what the topic of her final column was. “About caring for someone with a disability — my severely brain injured partner,” replied Singer.

Singer’s partner, well-known architect Peter Davidson had a severe stroke last year. Singer was involved in a public spat with Davidson’s ex-business partners late last year.

Another Singer fan replied to the columnist on Twitter, saying it was another example of the media getting dumbed down. “Not sure how much dumber it can get though..,” quipped Singer.
