Sarah Palin has encountered everything from blatant sexism to accusations of crippling inexperience in the election campaign. The Guardian reports on how Palin will also have to overcome allegations of tokenism for the Republican ticket to succeed.

Palin has by turns been hyped, eulogised, patronised, ridiculed, and stereotyped in a way that few other politicians, except perhaps Hillary Clinton, have experienced in recent times.”
