Golden evolution. The Golden Globes were announced in Los Angeles in a low key affair at the Beverly Hilton. No, we didn’t have a star studded red carpet as I mentioned would happen earlier this month. Instead we had a news conference in which the winners were announced, and yes there were some surprises. At least there was to me. Some are saying that the winners announced at the Globes are showing no sign of who will actually win at The Academy Awards when those take place. — Teevieo
All a little lacklustre. Well, we all knew it was going to be weird to have a faux Golden Globes. The best part of the show has always been that you had tv stars mixing it up with film stars. But because of the writers’ strike, this year’s Golden Globes had no stars, no quips, no fashion no-nos. It was just a list of winners. How boring… — imMEDIAte Graham
The host with the most? Was there no one else available to take this gig? Bush and O’Dell clearly were not familiar with these movies or television shows, nor were they remotely qualified to comment on upsets and surprise wins (of which there were some). These guys talk about celebrity gossip and tabloid crap when they host Access Hollywood (nice that The Simpsons Movie clip name-dropped their show … coincidence?). If there’s no mention of Britney’s hoo-hoo or Lohan’s vehicular shenanigans they’re flummoxed. — TV Squad
Jumping the shark. I never thought I’d bear witness in my lifetime, but the Golden Globes have “jumped the shark.” And although, as I’ve said, I did not bear witness (and actually went to bed with a giant Golden Globe sized headache), I’ve read that some of the other networks announced all the winners as NBC slogged on through to the bitter end. Ha! For those of you who did not watch (everyone) here’s the run down… — Your Award Is Showing
Behind the “scenes”. Just because last night’s Golden Globes weren’t broadcast on the tele doesn’t mean they’d forsaken the pomp and circumstance. Below we have non-broadcast footage from the red carpet of this year’s 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Taryn Southern. — Box Office Psychics
