The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Seven won again thanks to The X Factor. Ten did poorly, with Puberty Blues dipping, again. And Nine is really on the nose in Perth as Big Brother and The Farmer Wants a Wife do worse than some of Ten’s offerings. Nine’s Dallas remake tanked, again, and looks terminal.
Ten’s generosity to its commercial rivals and the ABC will continue this week and the national broadcaster will run third for a third week. Is that an unprecedented run?
Go Back to Where You Came From again did well on SBS ONE with 652,000 metro and 850,000 national viewers, down from the debut’s 752,000 metro and 1.053 million metro viewers. Gruen Planet on ABC 1 at 8.30pm dipped to 810,000 metro and 1.150 million national viewers.
Tonight: The usual split round for Seven tonight from 7.30pm to 8.30pm with Better Homes and Gardens in AFL markets and a program called Mighty Ships in NRL areas. Seven then unites for Mrs Brown’s Boys, then a repeat of the old standby, The Vicar of Dibley. Ten has repeats of Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals and then its Game Plan footy shows. Nine then has not only an hour of Big Brother, but half an hour of Big Brother: Confidential at 8pm. It then continues to yobbo humour with back to back repeats of The Big Bang Theory and then the various Footy Shows at 9.30pm. SBS has the third and final episode of Go Back to Where You Came From. The ABC has Catalyst. The ABC starts its coverage of the London Paralympics on ABC 1 at 6pm and ABC 2 from 7pm. It has a repeat of Midsomer Murders at 8.30pm on ABC 1.
