Last week we introduced you to
Jordana Jensen, the 29-year-old who managed to scale the heights of
Village Roadshow to become the company’s marketing director – with a
little help from daddy, company chairman John Kirby. Trouble was, she
didn’t let The Age in on the relationship in this fluff piece.
Now,
we discover Jordana has been very busy promoting herself. Last week,
the local News Ltd Leader suburban throwaway carried an almost
identical item on La Jensen’s stellar career. And two weeks ago the Financial Review
carried a profile of her in its Traveller column. But she wasn’t able
to throw an identity smokescreen over the nation’s financial daily.
This time, she at least carried the name Jordana Kirby Jensen,
answering 20 questions on travel tips ranging from “favourite
restaurant” (Petrossian. It’s a Russian caviar restaurant in New York –
totally decadent and indulgent) to “shopping” (I have a few favourites,
but I can’t give away all my secrets…”).
Seems some PR firm
has been earning a few Village dollars spruiking Jordana around town.
All the publicity, however, may be getting in the way of her day job:
the Herald Sun has been running a series of damaging stories about mice running riot at Village’s Jam Factory cinemas.
Last
Tuesday, the paper ran its strongest piece on the pesky mice, reporting
the plague now extended to the Village Southland’s cinemas. “It is a
well-known fact that mice run wild at the Jam Factory,” a cinema-goer
wrote. “It’s disgusting and I can’t believe nothing has been done about
it.”
So what has Village’s dynamic marketing director done to
quell the issue? Er, nothing. “The strange silence from management has
us confused,” writes The Hun’s‘The Eye’ team: “The Eye left three messages last week for the marketing manager at Village, none of which were returned.”
It may be that Jordana is off on one of her regular overseas jaunts. We quote from her latest profile puff piece:
FIN REVIEW: Greatest thing about travelling?
JORDANA:
Travel is such a great way to broaden your mind, take you out of your
comfort zone, and give you new and mostly wonderful cultural
experiences.FIN REVIEW: Worst thing about travelling?
JORDANA: Missing time with my husband.
Now,
if you think we’re picking on Jordana, how about her husband Ben. Is he
the same Christian Benjamin Terrence Jensen who, according to ASX
records, resigned as director of Lach Drummond Resources Ltd, the same
day the company fell into administration 12 months ago? And what of the
Lach Drummond Resources director who, according to this article from The West Australian,
appropriated $900,000 of the company’s money shortly before
administration proceedings. Is he related to the Jensen/Kirby family?
We
believe there are some interesting company documents that might shed
light on this family affair. Maybe Jordana could get back to us once
she’s dealt with the mouse plague.
