So Kevin Rudd went to a strip club. Big deal! Now, if he had gone to a brothel that would be a different story and his cherished halo would be descending faster than Malcolm Fraser’s trousers in Memphis.
Perhaps the reason politicians from all parties have not bought into the Rudd affair is that they are conscious of their own frailties and past foibles in their rise to power and influence.
I know the names of five current and former New South Wales politicians who are regulars at their local house of ill repute. What political party are they from? There is a slight leaning to the Liberal Party – but only just.
I dare not name them as there is a time honored code within the NSW brothel industry to never reveal customers’ identities as doing so would be a serious breach of privacy. It would also be the death knell of the brothel concerned as no one would ever return for fear of being outed.
The pollies usually attend at night time and are ushered straight in to a room without mingling with the punters in the communal bar areas. One has a particular liking for the “knee trembler”, where the lady of his choice sits on his lap and feeds him ice cream.
It is a fact that frequenters of brothels have no strata. Since being appointed as a lobbyist for the NSW legal brothel industry twelve months ago, I have become aware that industry barons, company executives, well known TV stars, footballers and wait for it – journalists — have fallen for the lure of the red plush boudoirs.
One senior journalist in particular is very fond of the BDSM culture. In a bizarre way perhaps he feels he should be punished for the stuff he writes!
