Phew, Lisa Paton backs up for a third time tonight to try and convert her Million Dollar Minute into cash. It will be her third go. Seven should give her the money and save us all. She is a worthy winner and her on air demeanour and calm is wonderful to watch. Million Dollar Minute had 1.287 million national/ 791,000 metro/ 496,000 regional viewers. The metro audience was down a touch from Tuesday night but the regional figure was up, pushing the national figure up by around 30,000 viewers. It easily beat Nine’s Hot Seat, again, at 5.30pm which had 993,000 national / 651,000 metro / 342,000 regional viewers.

Million Dollar Minute’s gains once again boosted Seven News past Nine News in metro markets. But Seven News couldn’t get past Nine in Sydney and Melbourne — it had big wins in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. No The Voice in Nine’s schedule and House Rules made hay, topping the two million mark with 2.065 million national / 1.272 million metro / 793,000 regional viewers. MasterChef Australia saw a nice jump in its audience numbers to 1.218 million national / 928,000 metro / 290,000 regional viewers. On nights like last night, with The Voice gone for the week, MasterChef Australia should really have cracked the million viewer metro mark and 300,000 viewers in the regions. Offspring slipped a little from last week, but still had more than 1.05 million national viewers, including 817,000 in metro markets and 237,000 in the regions.

Seven easily won the metro and regional markets, Ten was third (in metro and regional markets), easily, and ABC was fourth. Nine dawdled into second slot.

Death watch TV: Wake Up’s metro audience jumped to 47,000 yesterday from 26,000 at the start of the week. Ghoulish or guilty viewers?

Losers: When Love Came To Town.  90 minutes of this tosh was 90 minutes too much. Down more than a quarter of a million on its debut on Tuesday night.
