The usual Monday night’s viewing — a few gems, a few duds, then bed. Nine won the metros and the regions as Sunday night’s split disappeared. The ABC was third and Ten the now usual fourth.
The Block Glasshouse was top with 1.965 million metro/ 1.352 million metro/ 613,000 regional viewers. The results episode of The X Factor on Seven had 1.786 million national/1.167 million metro/ 619,000 regional viewers. It was the most watched program in the regions and that boosted it from third in the metros to second nationally on the night. Nine’s House Husbands benefited from having The Block as the lead in and had a very solid night for episode one with 1.5 million viewers from 8.40pm and 1.328 million for the second episode from 9.40pm. That second episode helped push the network to its solid win in all markets.
At 6pm Nine won the news battle clearly but the margin in Sydney dipped to just 27,000 over Seven. But in Melbourne it was a huge 162,000 and a solid 69,000 in Brisbane. Sunrise’s first tour day in the US boosted the audience over 400,000 to 413,000 and it beat Nine’s Today which averaged a reasonable 312,000.
