The Monster that is My Kitchen Rules ate the night again with nearly 2.1 million viewers (including 1.433 million metro viewers), but there was a bit of cheek from the first NRL game of the year between defending premiers Souths and Brisbane. Souths flogged Brisbane 36-6 and Nine and its regional affiliate WIN can be happy with the total national audience of 1.144 million, including 724,000 in metro markets (the game was on Nine’s main channel, Gem and on WIN in regional markets). MKR beat the NRL in Sydney, 430,000 viewers to 418,000, but in Brisbane, the hometown Broncos were more attractive than the out of down cookers and had 235,000 viewers to 205,000.
I’m A Celebrity on Ten did well — 858,000 national viewers, including 619,000 in metro markets. Gogglebox averaged 685,000 national viewers and 503,000 metro viewers for Ten.
