Seven’s night in metro and regional markets, with Nine in second (but it topped the demos, with The Block having another solid night). The regional win by Seven was especially large. 800 Words was the most watched program nationally with 1.637 million viewers and second in the metros. The X Factor was second nationally with 1.529 million viewers (and fourth in the metros). The Block had a very solid 1.327 million national viewers and fourth spot (seventh in the metros), so a big improvement.

Kaching! Pokie Nation at 9.35pm on the ABC deserved a much earlier airing. It had a solid 563,000 national viewers:  375,000 in the metros and 189,000 in the regions. Another example of why only the ABC can make powerful long form TV that upsets entrenched interests, especially in the corporate sector.

In the morning Today, 310,000 metro viewers, beat Sunrise which fell to 286,000 – Sunrise won nationally though, as usual.
