While Seven was the headline winner, Nine and Ten did better in the demos, again. Nine and Seven shared the main channels in the metros, but in the regions, Seven was a small winner (and a bigger winner overall).

Sam Frost seems to have made an odd choice on The Bachelorette and we will see tonight if she can handle that melancholy fact when she has to make her final choice. The Bachelorette was third in the metros and nationally with 1.354 million, 1.026 million and 328,000 regional viewers.

Seven’s tried and true Border Security leapt from eighth in the metros with 881,000 viewers, to second nationally with 1.367 million, thanks to a solid 488,000 nervy regional viewers worried about our borders. The now usual repeat of Highway Patrol on Seven did well with 1.340 million viewers and fourth nationally (for a repeat!).

Nine News won the metros even though The Chase Australia won the 5.30pm slot against Hot Seat on Nine. On the ABC Gruen did OK (but it seems to be running on autopilot ) with 1.232 million national viewers. The Ex PM faded to 891,000 for its second episode — still good.

In the mornings, Sunrise and Today swapped positions from Tuesday and Sunrise won the metros with 311,000 viewers to Today’s 290,000.
