Insiders managed 376,000 metro viewers, 276,000 on ABC and 110,000 on News 24. The Bolt Report had 111,000 viewers at 10 am, but that was lower than it should have been because it was pre-empted in Perth by the V8 Supercars on Ten. Nationally Insiders had 543,000 viewers and Bolt, 177,000 (remember it was pre-empted in Perth and WA regionals). Offsiders had 276,000 national viewers. Adding in the Perth and WA regional audiences wouldn’t have made much difference – Insiders and Offsiders clearly had more viewers than Bolt.

But with today’s innovation statement and the mid-year economic forecast next week, you’d think the management of the ABC and Ten would find the money for two more programs to cover both and the continuing political brawl over Ian McFarlane’s outburst of entitlement over a cabinet position that he wants back, and the continuing guerilla warfare Tony Abbott is conducting against Malcolm Turnbull.

If anyone is interested, Nine won the metros last night and Seven did well in the regions, as usual. End of story. The night was fairly average, even for this time of year.

Tonight watch or record Divorce on ABC at 9.30pm (and until Wednesday in the same slot). On the commercials, Home and Away enters its final episodes for the year. It is a standout for the demo for the night.
