Seven’s night and week thanks to My Kitchen Rules (which found a new couple to hate) which last night was assisted the second outing of First Dates which added to last week’s solid first up effort, and support from Home and Away (thanks Brax, Seven’s go to lad, next, can he host the faltering Sunrise?) and Seven News. I’m A Celebrity hung in for Ten, and Nine struggled after 7.30pm.

MKR managed 2.172 million national viewers and 1.544 million metros. Home and Away was second nationally with 1.311 million nationally and First Dates was on 1.274 million: that’s up 30,000 on its opening. Celebrity managed 10th spot nationally with 967,000. Apart from the News, Nine’s best was a repeat of The Big Bang Theory with 1.060 million national viewers.

In regional markets the five most watched programs were MKR with 629,000, Home and Away with 461,000, First Dates with 397,000. The Chase Australia (5.30pm), 363,000, and fifth was The Big Bang Theory repeat with 350,000

The Weakly with Charlie Pickering averaged 766,000 national viewers and 517,000 in the metros. It is not The Weekly so far as I am concerned and is back to the level of its weak start last year.

Seven won total people, and the demos in the metros and the regions. But Today scored another solid win over Sunrise in the metros, 363,000 to 332,000. Momentum is shifting, despite the set change at Sunrise, where the extra people on the set look a worry.
