More games, and big night and day for Seven, thanks to Kyle Chalmers win in the men’s 100 metres freestyle. Seven says its streams now total 16.3 million for the games so far, with 3.7 million yesterday and 739,000 for the Australia-USA basketball game yesterday morning. Seven won big in metro and regional markets.

And the Fiji gold medal winning effort this morning in the Rugby Sevens. fantastic.

The Checkout did well for the ABC and like Gruen, has returned in good form. The segment on zero per cent credit cards was spot on, as was the brief FU item on Woolworths’ packaged stir fry vegetables and mushroom (just one mushroom), not the mushrooms on the packaging. The Checkout had a solid 825,000 national viewers from 8 to 8.30pm.

The Bachelor is even more cringe-worthy than last year. it is hard to believe that grown ups are responsible for this example of TV. But it had a solid 999,000 viewers, so what do I know?

In regional markets, Seven News won with 646,000 people, with The Chase Australia at 5.30pm with 562,000, In Rio Day 5 was next with 522,000, the 7pm ABC News was fourth with 396,000 and Sunrise with 395,000.
