The foreign head of
state’s main Australian viceroy – Michael Jeffery just doesn’t get it and he
should take a leaf out of Queen Elizabeth’s book and leave politics alone.This
time it has been alleged he pushed John Howard to examine nuclear power in
Australia. Readers might well ask why His Excellency again broke the rules ;
well it seems that before he became viceroy he established the think tank
“Future Directions International” , which recently released a report ”
Australia’s Energy Options”.

And according to FDI’s executive director Craig
Lawrence, Government House, Canberra , had a luncheon for those who contributed
to the report . Mr Lawrence told “The Sunday Age” Jeffery “was he
founder of FDI and is still the patron and takes an active interest in what we
are doing”. This is not the first time Michael Jeffery has dipped his toes into
political matters of no concern to him; he jumped head first in the abortion
debate and also accepted the patronage of CEF-A, a right wing pro monarchist
group currently the subject of an investigation by the Taxation office.
Jeffery’s term as viceroy was recently extended by two years by his real boss
John Howard and rubber-stamped by the faux boss in Buckingham
Palace.
