Amber Schultz covered health and social affairs for Crikey. In 2022 she was awarded a Young Walkley Award for her on-the-ground coverage of the Ukrainian refugee crisis, and has been shortlisted for four other Young Walkleys. In 2021 she was awarded the 2021 Mumbrella Young Writer of the Year for her coverage of sexual violence, and in 2018 completed the Jacoby-Walkley scholarship. She holds master's degrees in journalism and international relations.

Writer, editor and former professor
Jill is an award-winning writer, editor, former professor and higher education administrator, consultant and coach, entrepreneur, and artist. She’s the founder of both Women’s Wellness Weekends and Creating the Freelance Career. The Advocates is her thirteenth book. Jill lives in Los Angeles with her husband and Queensland healer.

Jan McNicol

Climate activist and volunteer
An activist since childhood, Jan has barricaded herself to coal mine gates and escaped police pursuit. She practices one climate action every day.
