Is anyone safe from the wrath of the Sydney Morning Herald‘s Ross Gittins? Having recently laid the boot into the Treasurer for his “behind-the-scenes bullying”, and the “resentful stubbornness” of the Prime Minister, the SMH’s brilliant but tetchy economics columnist has now turned his invective on an equally juicy target — his own CEO.
Crikey understands the correspondence below was pinned up on the SMH noticeboard last Friday. It seems that Gittins didn’t take too kindly to being CCed in on Fairfax CEO David Kirk’s reply to a disgruntled Mr Bongarzoni, who’d complained about Gittins’s tardy response to emails. In the letter (see below), Kirk wrote: “I completely concur with your view that telephone calls, emails and letters should be promptly, courteously and comprehensively replied to.”
Perhaps Gittins’s narky response was prompted by his boss misspelling his name…
