The Winners: FlashFoward on Seven averaged 1.506 million for its third episode, so the audience has settled (it was up a touch from last Monday). Seven news averaged 1.442 million and Today Tonight was third with 1.401 million. Destroyed in Seconds was 4th for Seven at 8pm with 1.390 million and Highway Patrol was 5th for Seven at 7.30pm with 1.266 million. Nine News was 6th with 1.244 million, Two and a Half Men averaged 1.233 million for the 7pm repeat and A Current Affair was. The 7.30pm fresh episode of Two and a Half Men averaged 1.210 million people. Home and Away averaged 1.196 million at 7pm for Seven. Four Corners averaged 1.112 million, the ABC News update around 8.30pm averaged 1.104 million and the 7pm ABC News was 12th with 1.067 million. Big Bang Theory at 8pm on Nine averaged 1.043 million and Nine’s The Mentalist averaged 1.014 million. Media Watch averaged 933,000, Australian Story at 8pm, 929,000 and Top Gear on SBS at 7.30pm, 870,000. Good News Week on Ten at 8.30 pm, 818,000.
The Losers: The Apprentice Australia: 823,000. Better than the first two episodes, but still not good enough. It did however beat Mercy on Seven at 9.30pm: 780,000. it has taken just three episodes to die. Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? on Ten at 7.30pm: 738,000. The 7pm Project had more viewers a with 785,000.
News & CA: Seven News again won nationally and in every market. Today Tonight won everywhere but it and ACA drew Melbourne with 390,000 each. The 7.30 Report averaged 785,000, Lateline, 262,000; Lateline Business, 144,000. Ten News, 866,000, the late News/Sports Tonight, 223,000. SBS News at 6.30pm, 191,,000; 163,000 for the 9.30pm edition. 7am Sunrise, 354,000, 7am Today, 305,000.
The Stats: Seven won with a 6pm to midnight All People share of 27.9% (28.4% )from Nine’s combined 27.4% (27.8%), Ten with 19.1% (unchanged), the ABC with 17.6% (15.6%) and SBS with 8.1% (9.1%). Nine won Sydney and Melbourne, drew Brisbane with Seven, which won Adelaide and Perth. Nine’s shares were combined with its digital Go channel. Seven leads the week 28.5% to a combined 27.0% for Nine.
Digitally: Nine’s Go won with 2.30% (with its main channel on 25.10% compared with Seven’s 27.90%). Ten’s ONE was second with 1.60% (its main channel was on 17.50%); ABC 2 was on 1.50% (ABC 1 on 16.10%) and SBS Two was on 0.40% (ABC ONE was on 7.70%).
In regional areas a win to WIN/NBN with 26.4% from Prime/7Qld with 25.9%, Southern Cross (Ten) with 20.0%, the ABC on 17.9% and SBS with 9.8%.
Glenn Dyer’s comments: Seven won narrowly on the bald figures, its gap was larger once the digital figures were stripped out. Australian Story on the ABC was a story Seven’s Sunday Night and Nine’s 60 Minutes (plus TT and ACA) should have done.
Four Corners was interesting, especially as a book launch for the new book by Paul Barry.
TONIGHT: Packed to the Rafters on Seven, and Animal Rescue at 8.30pm and 7.30pm respectively. Nine has the latest Spider Man movie at 8.30pm. Ten has NCIS at 8.30pm, after the first new episode of the current US series of The Simpsons. ABC has Foreign Correspondent at 8pm. SBS has Insight and East West 101 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.
