Australia can certainly claim a rightful place in the “first movers club” of countries that have seemingly done best to stall the spread of COVID-19 and save lives. But as Crikey has been reporting this week, the world still has much to learn about the virus itself. How is it most commonly spread? How many people actually have it? And will there be a second wave? Crikey has been honing in on some key themes these questions have brought to light. These include Australia’s reliance on its relationship with China and if that relationship should be remade; the integrity of the government’s COVIDSafe app; and the state of the arts and universities in the face of the COVID crisis. There is plenty to think about. Let us know what you are thinking too by sending a letter to letters@crikey.com.au for Crikey’s new Your Say section — you might be featured in our weekly wrap up. Until next week, stay safe and keep asking questions. |
