This week at Crikey we had plenty of news from Canberra, with Amber Schultz and Kishor Napier-Raman reporting from the nation’s capital. Between them they covered the surge in people with disabilities disputing their NDIS plans, the dubious use of community grants under the Morrison government, the growing backlash against backgrounding women who make complaints of ill-treatment, and plenty more.

Also this week, Cam Wilson dug further into the international links behind the recent Convoy to Canberra protests, Josefine Ganko provided us with some helpful insight into the Cold-War era references being slung around in Parliament, and Charlie Lewis picked apart that interview with the Morrisons on 60 Minutes.

Finally, we returned to the Pentecostal-linked Esther Foundation, which received a $4 million grant from the prime minister in the lead-up to the 2019 election. Spurred by David Hardaker’s investigation, several former residents have spoken out about the faith-based abuse they experienced as teenagers. By Friday even the WA government was encouraging victims to come forward.

Have a great weekend,
