Hundreds of Australian aged care residents have died miserable deaths in the past month as a direct consequence of the Commonwealth government’s failings. As Bernard Keane wrote this week, Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Health Minister Greg Hunt and Aged Care Minister Richard Colbeck all have blood on their hands.

With just a few months until the election, the Coalition is in damage control mode. Kishor Napier-Raman reported on Morrison’s disastrous speech to the National Press Club, an address that saw the PM rattled and unable to answer basic questions — including which minister in his own government thinks he’s a psycho.

Indeed, even the polls have turned against the Coalition, with Anthony Albanese seemingly on the verge of victory. But Guy Rundle had some advice for Labor: beware of what you cannot see.
